Are you going to brave the mall this holiday season? If so be prepared for a packed parking lot and frustrated shoppers looking for a spot. The large crowds will increase your chance of a fender bender, here are a few tips in case of an accident:
If you are the driver don’t drive away! The punishment can result in a hit-and-run charge if you were seen by others or caught on surveillance cameras. If you are unable to find the driver leave a note for them with your name, number and describe the incident. Take down their license plate number and photograph the damage of the car. However, if major damage occurred call the police so they can properly document the accident.
If you are the victim, contact your insurance company as soon as possible. Take pictures of the damage your car suffered and get all the drivers information (name, number, phone number, driver’s license number and insurance company). Get the names and numbers of any witnesses that saw what happen.
Be aware while parking during these next couple of weeks and perhaps consider online shopping!
